About NCCFD
Mission:
The mission of National Capital Child and Family Development (NCCFD) is to provide quality early child care and education services to children 6 weeks to 5 years of age, their families, and the community.
History:
NCCFD began providing services in Washington, DC in 1964. We were the first Head Start program in the District of Columbia. Since then we have served over 100,000 children.
Today NCCFD is a nationally accredited program that provides high quality, early childhood development services to children 6 weeks to 5 years of age at the Carver Terrace Early Childhood Development Center located at 2229 M Street NE in ward 5. The 12,000 square foot building has the capacity for 100 children and operates 11 hours per day. We offer a nurturing and safe environment for children with a structured curriculum, qualified and experienced teachers, a year-round program and nutritious meals.
